Phil & Freda and Gareth & Anne did the Benirrama to the castle walk.  This is the first time we’ve done this walk since the bad summer fires and the devastation was clear to see.  The before and after photos below shows views from March this year followed by what it looks like now.  Very sad.

It was a cloudy day but it stayed dry until the last 10 minutes.  The walk was just under 7km and took 2 hours 50 mins.

We met at Bar Roca in Benirrama for coffee and returned there for lunch .  Phil should get an award for managing to eat a full plate of the owner’s disgusting soup!  Last time we reckoned that their carajillo quemado was worthy of our No 2 spot but it has now been relegated as, although nice, it lacked cinnamon, wasn’t properly layered and was made too quickly!
